Geko Racing - the path to Warrick 2007
Brad - August 9th, 2007 at 10:15 PM

Hi Guys,

The boys and I thought we would try something a little different this year and see what feedback is like and have a laugh.

We have decided to race the geko at warrick and do the race prep, engine conversion, rebuild it in a 48 hr period and run a web blog for all to see.

Anyway build weekend is 11 / 12 Aug 2007 and the website http://www.gekoracing.com  is now up and running.

Should be a hoot !!!

that is pretty cool, good to see some VW guys have a ball, how fast do you think it will go over the 1/8th ?

Baja Wes - August 12th, 2007 at 11:17 AM

depending on the finished weight of the car, I'm guessing a mid to high 9 down the 1/8th, at somewhere around 110-120kph.

Thats what Andrew did with his Manx and an 1835cc aircooled?!?! :P

Baja Wes - August 12th, 2007 at 02:07 PM

and his manx weighed nothing :), the Geko has steel bars all over the place.

And the Geko only has a standard EJ22, ~$1500 engine.

And you think my old 1835 was anything special because i can usure any body it wasn't and i had to Ring its neck with gear snapping flat changes@ 6000rpm for a 9.85 and still be beat easily by Gunter how embarising for poor OLD FAITHFULL but you get that when you just through whatever speed part you've got all together and go have some fun which is what its all about and no dought i again will have fun this year but as part of team of mates willing to give it a go
Now getting back to the subject i have no idea what time the Geko will run but as Wes was noted i am expecting a 9.5 - 10.0 run.
