Is this Dash Board meant to be like this for a 1971 model??

u mean with the plastic coatin?

yes.. can it be removed if so how do we take the panic handle off?? n how do u take off the knobs??

Hi

The panic handle come off like a steel dash one does, nuts behind the dash, above the glove box. The knob for the light switch undoes and the vent ones just pull off. These padded dashes appeared after 1972 and were fitted to the last bug the 76 model. If you fit it to a pre 71 car you will need to make a hole for your wiper switch.
