Can you identify? Nobody will guess this one. OK, SOMEBODY GUESSED IT...
last celtic warrior - September 12th, 2007 at 08:10 AM

I haven't been on here much lately, as I've been busy building another car for myself. I've still been checking in occasionally to keep myself up to date.

I just had to make this post though, to see if anyone can identify the item in this photo that I took last night. It may not be what it appears to be and might fool a few people... Have a guess anyway, I'm sure somebody will have an idea of what this item might be.

last celtic warrior - September 13th, 2007 at 12:01 AM

OK, post number 13, just because it's cool... LOL

In all seriousness (or silliness), I'm making this a competition. The first person to name what this item actually is, will win the item, whatever it is (and yes, I do know what it is myself). If you can manage to work out what it is, I will package the item safely and post it to you...

Ponder and wonder and see what you can come up with that might look like this. If you have any idea at all, post it here and I'll keep check on the thread and the first post to name the mystery object correctly, wins it outright, however much it's worth (it's EXTREMELY rare, or is it).

BUGBOY - September 14th, 2007 at 01:25 PM

As parts are stamped with vw logo's and this is a rasied logo I would say that its very thin material.
Saying that i would think its not a volkswagen part at all.

kroozzn63 - September 14th, 2007 at 03:24 PM

a pie tin hand sculpted by a pissed dude

last celtic warrior - September 14th, 2007 at 07:56 PM

OK, we have a winner!!! You guys are smarter than I thought (well, some of you)...

Kroozzn63 got it spot on, except I wasn't drunk, just waiting for my son to finish his custard tart so I could do the bin trip. I'm so creative I just couldn't help myself...

So, the smartest guy on here (as evidenced by his comment on this thread) has just won for himself an extremely rare, hand formed aluminium pie tray reproduction of a VW hubcap. Congratulations buddy. This is a classic you'll be able to display proudly as the pinnacle of your collection, and in the future could be worth anything at all (or nothing at all).

U2U your address to me and I'll post it out to you. Would you like a certificate of authenticity with it? :duh LOL
