is it a moke or is it a c\b type thing who knows

looks like a butchered country buggy done up as a moke.:o
Headlights look like early mini /moke. Taillight holes look like EJ Holden. Might be someones homebuilt special
That is certainly unique. I think that someone has Moked a Country Buggy. It would be a good project for someone. When finished it would be a very unusual car. I don't find it to be offensive and I'd like to see it when it's restored.
I'm enjoying the comments from the experts.
It's not a country buggy, certainly not a thing.
It's home made, looks like it's very well made. Just a pity someone is going to grab it thinking it's a "RARE" VW, when it nothing but a
contraption.
hehe yea that idiot (not the owner) assures me he can prove its an actuall country buggy and extremely rare and valuable

I see Birchall's been on & straightened it out.

It is rare but. There can only be one of them.
You'll notice the bidding has come to a grinding halt too!
now their saying it's an "american THING" or a "type 2 KUMBELWAGEN"..
It worth money still as the floor pan is pre 55.
steering wheel(batwing) ,brakes ,pan, straight shifter, smiths rally pack fitted to speedo pod.
All hard to get these days.

The second gauge is a fuel/temp/amp meter from a CA Bedford, drove one for years.
You'll find the tail lights woulds have been TK Bedford. Same shape as the EJ but different bolt on pattern.
"Q: In Australia, people like Dean are called an idiot. Good luck with your sale. John 21-Sep-07
A: thanks John "
priceless
the front looks like a moke...
so someone who liked the look of the Moke
also liked Volkswagens and made this "thing"
It would be interesting to know what year it was actually made...
There were No Country buggies or Mokes in 1955
maybe it was made in the late 60s..
those Lucas gauges were in Morris Minors, Morris Majors, Austin Lancers etc... they were used in Many UK based cars with Lucas equiptment..
interesting about the Bedford tail lamps...
I always thought they were from the EJ Holdens...
