helbus - October 9th, 2007 at 08:46 PM

Over $3000 US just for hardware, piston and barrel sets.

Look good, and made from Aussie Alcoa aluminium

That is jake's old mate and the Nickies.

Same as the Porsche "S" motor of old.

Why not why the Aussie $ is kicking arse. I've seen these before but bloody $$$, if you've got the $$$ why the hell not.

It'll be interesting to see the engine life comparison.

matberry - October 10th, 2007 at 10:25 PM

I'd love some of these.
Whose shout????

vwvic - October 10th, 2007 at 10:57 PM

They look awsome. May be worth spending the extra $$$ if it makes your engine last longer.

frank2112 - October 11th, 2007 at 08:30 AM

that would be most of my engine budget gone just on barrels, pistons & pins. Looks like the go for big horsepower motors. I also read the articles on the site about oil. Very interesting reading.

yeah that looks nice, wouldnt mind a set

helbus - October 11th, 2007 at 06:15 PM

If you had a Porsche 356 and had already spent $80K doing a full restoration, maybe it would seem like a less painful purchase in terms of percentage of vehicle total cost?
