it's real, he's got the pics to prove it.
It's not a factory convertible though.

There's real, and then there's REAL. Whilst this is real, it's not REAL. But as a project and a good looking job, it looks unreal.

Yeah, definatly not factory.. the only factory one is in the Wolfsburg museum in Germany AFAIK..
Although it is nicely done for a home job.. one of the few home built convertables i'd own..:smilegrin:

Wonder what it looks like with the top up?

Joel - October 11th, 2007 at 07:55 PM

probably as bad as all the chopped beetles around
1 of 5 yeah right i know of 4 notch verts incl that one

so i guess there must be one more left out there...:duh

68AutoBug - October 17th, 2007 at 10:56 PM

I didn't think there were 5 chop top type 3s around..

it does look OK...

Not $20,000 worth though....:no::no::no:

I think He's called it a type 31 to try to get people ita an original VW cabriolet....

I'm presuming it Is really a type 31...
and Yes I noticed the fuel flap which must have come off a later model type 3...
I contacted the ebay seller but He didn't know anything as its His Uncle's car..
