hi guys,

wondering if anyone knows of a good import company i can talk to about bringing my 66 samba over from the UK when i emigrate with my family next year.

Any clues about any pitfalls to look out for would also be appreciated. I've mailed a few vehicle importers but they don't seem to want to reply.

It seems Oz is more stringent on vehicle compliance than the UK so i was wondering what modifications might be necessary for her to be deemed road worthy. She;s an LHD model, would that be a problem?

Also regarding import duty, if i already own the vehicle do i still have to pay a valuation based tax to customs? Or does that only apply to import companies who are looking to import to sell?
