Bug Me DVD's
DUB64 - October 13th, 2007 at 07:26 PM

Hi I am looking to learn about Beetles and I heard about the Bug Me DVD sets.

Has anyone heard of them?

Seen them?

Are they worth getting for a complete VW rookie?

yeah - heard good things about them on the US forums.

Nothing like jumping in the deep end though.
You seem to have interest and a willing to learn.
That is the main thing.

Think you might have to send over to the States to get them

I have a few, they are excellent for preparing to carry out any job yourself, good investment IMHO :thumb

I have them and say they are good but they still lack some details that i would like to know or things that i feel are basic no no's that they don't mention. Things like how to work out your compression ratios and deck height etc. If you are building a basic factory engine and don't care about getting it to be more blue printed than just throw together they are good. Then agian i haven't wathed them all yet.

I woudl suggest watch them in conjunction with a lot of reading and brain picking of others.

Yes You will still need a few workshop / owners manuals

The Bentley manual [VW of America]
Haynes manuals [many to choose from]

the idiot book - John Muirs book is recommended for newcomers ...

check out these books at : http://www.amazon.com

You can buy used manuals from the USA from the amazon site - very inexpensive compared to Aust prices.
just watch the postage charges as manuals are heavy..
