Polishing ceramic tiles?????
GTMac - October 31st, 2007 at 08:09 AM

Hi guys, does anyone know if you can polish ceramic floor tiles.
I have 100 year old hexagon bathroon floor tiles that are very solid but a bit grotty on top. I have seen larger machines like when they polish concrete but are thee smaller versions that I can hire etc.

Thanks.

I'd use the same stuff that you're wiping those Porsche's and Bimmers with.

What about hiring a floor polishing machine? They got brushes and pads and etc, but there more meant for just scrubbing and buffing. Works a treat if you just want to give it a good scrub.

Those big machines you are talking about actualy grind the surface, if you do that to the ceramic tiles you will go through the top baked surface and stuff em good, maybe even pull some of the tiles off the bedding material and as tiles arn't usualy absolutaly even on the top surfface you would tend to hit and miss unless you realy got into it and ground heaps off, better to just give em a good scrub with a motorised floor scrubber and a good cleaning agent.
