New grunty engine, slipping clutch, so I guess I need an upgrade...
Who stocks Kennedy pressure plates and what will it cost me? Or is there some super-sticky driven plate/disc that I can install (my pressure plate and
flywheel combo is balanced and I'd like to retain the pressure plate if possible!)
anyone?
you can just get em direct from kennedy. they were quick with emails and delivery..........
Rod has too em, of course.
what you got now?

Cool, I'll chat with Rod. Are the Kennedys 'zero' balanced? I hope so...
Now, I have a standard Sachs (!) pressur plate with a 'solid' (no springs) disc. It j-u-s-t slips when I hammer it into 3rd in my L with 3.8 box. I
think it would be okay with shorter gearing and/or less mass... I have never had clutch slip with a 4.12 box in my Oval
get them both from Rod.
Doesn't Stan just machine the FW a bit shallower to get a tad more clamp?
Rodney is the cheapest around for Kennedy stuff.
They are pre balanced, but it only takes a couple of thou of FW location run-out to amplify any error.
Unless you are on a tight budget, get it mirror balanced,
with YOUR FW, to your own old one.

when I was looking into clutch upgrades, one of the clutch specialist in Bris said he could make a pressure plate that has the normal organic lining
on one side, and 6 or so ceramic style pucks on the other side.
I decided to stick with the standard clutch as I'd rather the clutch slip than my gearbox explode. I also need good clutch control for offroading.
