R.I.P. GTI 083
motha - November 15th, 2007 at 04:50 AM

G'day all vww dubbers

Just letting everyone know that the dovw for me has been the death of the VW at 1.30PM 14/11/07

Due to a very stupid mole who thought that watching the footpath was more important than the black stuff my GTI has been rendered a write off.
She punched into the back of me & my brother at full wack thus shoving my into & under a 4WD Land Rover!

It is now 2 feet shorter!

Everyone is O.K. (I don't really care about the other people & couldn't even look them in the face. She ended up lossing her licence on the spot!) but my brother has damaged his neck & I've stressed my back.

I'm absolutely gutted right now & just had to vent & let everyone know that because of some stupid bitch that she has detroyed my dream & will power for VW's. Waited 7 year's to buy it, 4 year's to restore it to it's former glory & "BANG"

If I can withstand seeing it again, I may post up some of the damages pic's, but don't hold your breath.

I don't know whether to laugh, cry or throw up! I've already shed a tear.

I may or may not turn up to the DOVW. We'll see.

Pics were from a recent Tassie trip & track day at Symmonds Plains

LUFTMEISTER - November 15th, 2007 at 07:57 AM

sorry to hear all your hard work was destroyed.:( unfortunately you were in the wrong place at the wrong time and became involved in a random act of stupidity. BUT the outcome could have been a lot worse if injuries were more severe or fatal. As long as you are fit and able,(and have a good lawyer:cool: ) you can always refocus and follow your dream. good luck

ratty 63 - November 15th, 2007 at 12:25 PM

Man, that sucks.

Hope both you and your brother recover from your injuries quickly

Yeah, it could have been worse, but it doesn't make the situation any easier to deal with, does it?

About 10 years ago I had an intoxicated elderly woman who was on the way home from the bowls club pull out through a give way sign only a couple of meters in front of me and my stock '63 Beetle. A couple of fractured bones in my neck and two written off cars was the result - I still hate her.

Just so unnecessary.

R :)

Condolences dude :tu:

OZ Towdster - November 15th, 2007 at 10:18 PM

As others have said ,i hope the two of you feel better soon .
And although without seeing pictures your car may seem forever gone it might be worth buying it back even only for the motor and sunroof roof which could be all fitted into another body , and even though it will never be another genuine GTI sirocco ? it will at least have the heart of one .
