pick-up - November 20th, 2007 at 10:06 AM

Can someone give me some advice as to what an all original and complete ratter 57 bug, no rust, 2" narrowed adj. beam, adj rear, new brake system, running, no rego is worth?
I know they go for around 5k stock and in good condition not ness. running.
cheers

what is needed for rego?

pick-up - November 20th, 2007 at 10:15 AM

nothing aside from adding indicators if the RTA says so,
it has new brake system, slaves, master, lines etc, good running 36horser

pick-up - November 20th, 2007 at 10:17 AM

brand new tyres all round too, 165 rears, 145 fronts

The indicaters will be the least of your worries if its got to go through the RTA as they won't approve of the narrowed beam or if its to low

This one has been for sale for a while, missing W deck and tail lights (~$300-500 worth) and it isn't moving at $3k.

56 Bug on Carsales

However an 'all original' car with '2" narrowed adj. beam' would have to be worth a bit....

pick-up - November 20th, 2007 at 01:19 PM

i have been told by mates it's a bargain at $7500 as it has no rust and is complete & unmolested. Looks the goods though..

dvs_vw - November 20th, 2007 at 01:28 PM

I would have said $7-8k-ish....wouldn't say a bargain at $7500, thats about right I reckon, but considering the mods and that they do go for decent money as a stocker, it would be a good buy.....sounds like my '55, sort of anyway....and I'd want at least that and then some and its regoed, and older/rarer and very complete and in decent nick for a 54/55 model with the same mods and some nice accessories! So seems about right.

the one at the bottom of page and the old owner had just spent $8000 on the new motor it was great pick up

What's mine worth than????? lol

dvs_vw - November 21st, 2007 at 09:01 AM

depends how original it is, how complete it is, and how much of a 56 beetle is left in there. I think something that is and original unrestored and unmolestered car is worth more in my opinion as its a fresh starting point for a mod/build or great for a rat look which is very 'in' these days!

Molestered that's a bit harsh isn't it? Modified would be the correct interpretation. I'm not bias I love all vee dubs molestered or not. lol.

And isn't it a 57 in question?
