Hi everyone, well after 3 months working in Canada assembling brand new gas turbine engines i am finally on the way home, i am currently sitting in the Qantas business class lounge using the free internet, and drinking free beer and food, i feel like i don't belong here, the people that no me will probably agree. In canada we built up to 90 engines a month the sound of three test cells running continuously is awesome, canada is absolutely beautiful, i will post some pictures when i get home but not all 700 of them, i hiked through the rocky mountains went mountain biking on some seriously mad trails, the whole time wondering if i was going to be eaten by a bear, everyone over here askes about snakes and spiders back home, i told them there nothing to woryy about, i would be more woriied about bears, there were deer, elk, and little chipmunks everywhere i went. They absolutely love there big canyonaro's (Bloody big utes) here too, i was at a traffic light and was the only 4 cylinder there totally surrounded by about 8 of them, they are too big those trucks, might be makin up for something. Every where you go people ask you to say dingo's got my baby, which weras thin real quick, but you say it any way and i usually got shouted free beers when i said it. I went to many ice hockey games and i must admit i love that game, my first game i went to see there was a fight within 30 seconds and they don't get a penalty for it either, sitting in the first row and watching a player get slammed into the wall is wicked, it is like watching rugby and cricket in one game. One of the guys had a new ford gt mustang and let us drive the other aussie got pinged doing 140 kph and they let us go so after that i was speeding every where usually only 20 k's over. Fast food places are everywhere which sucks cause its hard to find a decent quick meal. The place is just like Home but they drive on the wrong side of the road and all their domestic cars are seriously ugly, i only saw 4 aircoold dubs the whole time but their is plenty of new water cooled ones though, heaps of those dam ugly new beetles too. In the last week i took a trip down to cleveland georgia, and visited Jake Raby, and his business Aircooled Technology, for 4 days i ended up purchasing a 2270 kit from him at a reduced price cause i travelled so far to meet him, the guy is great, i spent half a day with him cruizing with him in his ex swiss army 4x4 pinzgauer truck, it is and inline aircooled four cylinder 2.5 litre but he is rebuilding it to 3.3 litre, he installed his own made custom fuel injection kit and we were driving the back roads dialling the fuel injection computer in, we got heaps of looks from the locals iin their big pickups they, even got a very loud yee ha form one of them and we both yee ha'd back what a laugh. We drove over a bridge and he pointed out that that is the river they filmed deliverance on, i could here the duelling banjo's instantly, we dyno tuned a new engine combo and made unbelievable power but i am sworn to secrecy about that, until he is ready to release the info. I am also in talks with him to be an aussie ditributor for his parts, but more on that later when things get finalised in the new year. any way less than 20 hours till i am home, catch up with you lovely people later. Cheers Damo.
