Extreme disapointment for us.
No words to express, for the privateers. Having met a past competitor, I know the preparation and $$$ that can go into these campaigns !!
:(:(

Now is the chance for an Australian Federal government with half a brain to realise that we should offer to run it here where we have much better security.

The problem is, does our new government have even half a brain?

I doubt it.

How's this for an alternative to the Dakar that would be every bit as daunting to drive.

Something like Bairnsdale to Broome in a straight line.

Start in Melbourne for the street and rally sections, then a run on the 90 mile beach, over the Victorian Alps, across the Riverina and the Hay Plains, across the Simpson Desert, through the MacDonald Ranges, across the Great Sandy and Victoria Deserts and arrive in Broome just in time to see the Stairway to the Moon.

COOL!!!!

Man that sucks!!! It's the one thing on my yearly holiday that i watch religiously every day. Personal fav is definately the trucks!!!

ahh to drive one of them every day to work..... might stop some stupid females in Barina's, Echo's and the like from cuttting in front of big vehicles when trying to stop for traffic lights etc. reducing your braking distance. You could just about run over the top of them LOL
