Anyone interested in seeing (and hearing) a 1916 cc motor shredding some tires should drop by Mt Cotton for the Queensland championships next weekend
and the state round at Grafton the weekend after next (7th and 8th).
THE Pobjoys are gonna be racing their steroids openwheeler, and I believe there are a couple other ppls with their 1916's entered too.. I'm
hoping to make it to Grafton, but can't quite swing Brisbane as a spectator..
Anyone else going to either of these? any fellow 1916's?
Going and seeing what the engines are capable of is probably the easiest way of ending the (now stangely dormant) 1916cc debate
so go and check it all out
*prods debate with stick*
*poke*
*poke poke*:P
Have you got any details of the brissie event? i know where it is
sounds like a lot of fun, wish I could watch.:thumb
have a squiz at cams website, it's got allll the events listed, just enter the parameters for what state, and date, and you''ll know
as much as me. almost

I was talking to Stan a couple of weeks ago (actually it was the other way round!
) and he mentioned the Grafton event.
I'd really like to go with my sons for a day out.
Brissy a bit far on short notice though.
I'd like to catch up with ya Pete, if you end up going to Grafton.
:thumb
How come u didn't come out & support the 1916's at Oran Park a couple of weeks ago with the Porsche club Peter? I thought after all your
comments u would have been there with bells on, I thought u may even have a run.
Next one is on the 21st of June, in about 4 weeks at Oran Park again.

Yeh jJak,
but he won't run a pissweak 1916 ,he just runs off from the mouth, the steroids won't cut it , may-be a different drug is required.
may -be some ice!!
Rolly
Hey there is practice on the sat with free spectator entry and actual event on sunday with a $10 spectator entry(if i remember correctly). I was
trying to enter but mr R wouldn't let me put my entry in a day late
so i won't b racing.

Pete,
do your self a favor and drive a stroker and then tell me about your precious 1916.. hahha
You can't seriously believe a crappy 1916 can make any real horse power, only ponies..
Rolly
Just chill a little Rolly, I might not agree with everything that Peter says but I'm all for advertising VW's competing regardless of the
engine combo.
regards
Jak
I have to agree with jak, the more VW's at any motorsport the better. Nomatter whether its a 1600cc stock motor to 2+ L of stroker. the more the better. I only see a green super at the hillclimb normally, there should be more!!
Yeah, jJak, i have three buggerising reasons why me and my bells aren't racing
1 I work on weekends
2 My car handles like a bag of wet sheep
3 I only just got my cams license yesterday
Hope to be on the track one day, but it's not worth it at the moment with the way the wet sheep keep bleating at me in the back seat. also
I'm saving my moolahdosh for some fixing-up-of-car stuff, some of us haven't spent years and thousands on making our cars race ready.
It's all in the pipeline..
(I've been told I should see v-force
about my handling/steering/camber problems) seems you've got yours under control, how much does it cost to get a super to handle like yours?
But yeah, I'm gonna try and make it to Grafton, just for a looksee. If you're heading up, Steve, let me know, I'll try to get some time
off work, although I'll be pushing it with Nambucca coming up. *fingers crossed*
Now, "rolly", two things fyi : I only have a daily-driver base 1916, not a steroids motor. and it's actually not 'crappy',
or 'pissweak', so I guess your wacky comments weren't directed at me.
define 'mouthing off' for me please, and let us know who you are in the great scheme of things, just for kicks.
oh yeh, and as advice is being freely given, do yourself a favour and think before you post something else stupid here. good boy.
Pete,
Why waste your time on these ppl
Yes I have spent 10 years getting the car to where it is today Pete but I havn't spent thousands, I do all my own work, but I would definantly
reccomend seeing Richard at V-Force 97431247 as he is an expert on Superbugs, everything that I have on my car is all from him & it's all
bolt on, track ready.
While u are there ask to see the all the chromoly bits that I use in my motor.......I'm joking I;m jokng!!!!!!
But back to what this post is about, keep us informed on how the vw's go & we want to see some pics.
regards
Jak
ps: Peters 1916 can't be that slow, it's a V6 beater!!!
[Edited on 24-5-2003 by jakriz]
For Jak,
I think Peter is a shit stiring person who is coaxed by another, this topic makes trouble, not every one agrees with Jak or Peter or others, who cares
about what size engine you have as long ads it is vw,not magna or whatever.
Peter has tryed to re-ignite this dead argument several times and is happy to insult professional, poeple some who will no longer particapate in this
silly argument
I will bag him when I choose.
I choose to stay anominous.
Rolly
Fair enough.
Jak

Oran park sounds like fun !
Now fitting a standard gearbox to my car(standard 76 box) to go supersprint racing, so this should increase the VW numbers!!!!!!
Had fun dominating Hillclimb for so long , now it is time to develop a car for tarmac rally.
Jak what times should I be aiming for at wakefield and oran.
Will I be the only non superbug running ??
P.S May still run Grafton.
It's painfully obvious who's bagging, poo stirring and attempting to besmirch professionals on this forum "rolly", take a long
hard look at your previous three posts, and then explain the reason why you won't tell anyone who you are. hmmm.
hope to see some more bugs at the hillclimbs, too. quick poll: anyone else interested in getting involved in Hillclimbs and supersprints? bout time us
buggers started to make a bit more of a showing i reckon. :thumb
umm jak, yes it does beat a few v6's, but sooner or later we all have to take a corner. bummer. And if your car didn't take thousands to
make it handle like it does, does that mean it took hundreds? I really hope that's the case.
I bet your wheels alone would have to put you into the thousand dollar region, unless you made them yourself. out of egg cartons or something
yep,
I checked em my previuos 3 posts and I don't bag any business , just a particular engine , my opinion and I am entitled to it.
I do however find your posts disturbing.
I think you should read some of your previuos posts on the subject of penis size ie who's is longer ,fatter or blown. It all comes out at the
races.
Rolly
Hahahahahahahahah
*sigh*
thanks rolly, at least you made me laugh today :thumb

Hi,
My good friend Colin from Tamworth will be competing at Grafton in his black s-bug. So if anyones there go say hello, he could do with the
company. Its an ida`d 1916cc with close trans, i think he runs in the old 2e class?. Cheers, Keith H.

If people wants to posts pics of the hillclimb event, or results, then go for it.
If I see another pointless "my engine is better than yours" or "your a wanker" post, I will delete it. We all had our fun in the
original 1915 post, now let it be.
I think all you guys have lost the plot.
We're here for one common goal and yes thanks Pete for letting me know about the hillclimbs. I used to go out there years ago and the winner was
a vdub powered , supercharged open wheeler and man it sounded fat. So i'm gonna go and fly the vw flag anybody else interested in going?
PS onya Wes
Is that a moderator getting involved ??? Am I in the right place ??

On another note I woudl love to drive fast in my air cooled beetle, just don't think the turd woudl hold togeather :bounce

Jak,thanks for your reply, although it hasn't really helped with times etc.
An "all out race car", I think you need to actually see my car before making comment about it. It was registered up untill 2000 in its
current form, and has minimal performance added extra's due to the class I run.
Brakes= standard type 3
Suspension= lowered balljoint and IRS with t3 bars with bilstein shocks and the usual caster shims and camber adjusters
Swaybars =" off the shelf" whiteline
Wheels= widened STEEL 7x14
All door trims ,hood lining, front seats and carpet remain, as does the heater fan etc
External is all original guards ,bumpers bonnet and doors etc.
What I would see as a usual street car at any VW show!
What a Typical race car has is front and rear spoilers, larger alloy wheels, slotted/drilled discs, (usually rear discs), extra oil coolers, various
ceramic coated parts, a better front suspension than torsion bar and more aerodynamic friendly body shape via curved front windscreens etc!
I want to run any supersprint to research setups for my soon to be registered street/targa car !!
P.S If you think being a 76 it must be light,
both doors, bumpers and bonnet are from a 71 model and the rear guards are from a superbug!

Holy crap Craig, u just described my car in every detail!!! except for the curved windscreen. Although I do have the back seat, stereo, speakers, lots
of soundproofing, seatbelts & child seat hook restraints for my kids (It's a daily driver unfortunantly) The reason I didn't mention
times is that U will alomost probably be at least 2 seconds a lap quicker than CT & myself just due to the fact of the Horsepower that your motor
puts out, & the fact that we are just hack drivers purely concentrate on keeping our prized posessions on the black stuff right way up. We
don't have any prior driving experience although years of BMX & mountain bike racing keep my reflexes up I suppose but apart from that we are
real novices in the purest sense.
Thats why I suggested that u race the group 7 series & give those Twin cam datsuns hell. They are in I think a group 2e class but they run slicks
& Avgas etc, they would get quite a scare if u turned up. They won't let me run in their class as they don't consider my car a street
car with the spoilers. A couple of years ago I won the class at Oran Park against Mazda Mx5's & Datsuns 1600's etc, but the clark of the
course rang me during the week at work & said that I wouldn't be getting a trophy as the other drivers in my class had protested because of
the front spolier & rear wing, they said since they wern't factory items that I should be racing with the Sport Sedans. Close but no cigar.
So I've resigned myself to just putting around with big brother Porsche.

Jak
