12v hair dryer
sand kombi - May 23rd, 2003 at 08:51 PM

In one of the forums,it was said they used a 12v hair dryer as a demister/heater, how long can you run them before over heating the unit or would a caravan 12v heater be better. Also what is the power usage be approx[12vx10amps=120w] or more :thumb

I've found a web site that has 12 volt heaters for sale.
See: http://www1.jaycar.com.au/images_uploaded/Page3...:thumb

My friend that put the 12V hair dryer in the Baja only put them in for legality of "having demister " for rego.
He would never run them for long.
Not sure the power rating. maybe Jacar site has some note..

Jaycar site has a 12 volt heater with two settings 150w and 250w. You probably couldn't run it through the cig. lighter socket. It would have to be hard wired in with a seperate fuse.

I had trouble finding it as the short cut didn't work. But once at the Jaycar site, if you do a search for heater it comes up.

Maybe I should get one or two to keep my bum warm this winter.

Mmmm, 12 volt hairdryer for the VW just what I need when I've been caught in the rain or been for a swim and my hair's a mess.

Dr L doesn't have a demister double value:)

Are they as weak as the travel ones?? Gutless wonders that they are.

Couldn't help it, saw the post about a hair dryer:jesus

re link, hold your mouse over link, the 'underline' only goes so far, space in the wrong place :p

Actually when the link was posted (and if I go in to edit it) there is no space. some buggy thing in the xml code was inserting it.

the Gestapo were driving a 181 'thing' in the 2nd World War movie on Austar on thursday.. it was complete with 1968> headlamps and wide front blinkers...
It was painted army green.... I'm not sure whether it was a 1943 colour or not....
