Whoa.....I just got a quote on a compulsory CTP greenslip from GIO and it was so expensive $600+...now can anyone tell me why this is so???? Iv got a
71 superbug, Im over 40 (cant give away too many secrets..
) have not
had any accidents or claims in many many years and have no points missing off my licence (forever....Im a good driver!!) so why is it that
expensive......?? Also is there another insurance company that does these greenslips cheaper for these little cars and at the same time do they give
good incentives for someone with my good driving record/credentials??
Can someone help me out with this too.....???? When is my car classed as a vintage and or a classic, so I can recieve cheaper registration?? or is
this a fallacy??? can someone elaborate please on that.
Thankyou. regards Jules....."give a bug a hug"

costs me $58 a yr which includes greenslip
Hi Jules
I've sent you a PM with insurance info..
Make sure You get the beetle insured with Shannons or NRMA classic car insurance
before You get your green slip
otherwise it will cost You heaps....
I got My car registered first naturally as it wasn't regod before..
I then got it Insured with NRMA classic car insurance two weeks later...
this year it saved Me over $100 on the green slip
because the beetle is insured....
$5000 for $175-00 with NRMA classic
I could have got $8000 with Shannons for about $290
My beetle can be driven 4 days a week...
and 8000kms a year
