Last night i was going out and at the smith St/ government road intersection on the gold coast which is a very busy intersection congested etc. there was an 83 falcon stalled at the lights. Being a kombi driver and in no hurry i stopped to help the lady in distress. Her car had stalled and the battery wouldn't crank it over. I drove in front of her and backed up close enough to get the jumper leads on and i put the hazard lights on. while i was hooking the leads up another car pulled up behind the falcon. two friendly guys got out and said is your kombi alright mate? haha...i said its the falcon that don't go! nobody else had stopped to help the lady...I think she wants a VW now...better than racq!

I make it a point of always stopping when I see a woman broken down. poor things have no idea what to do and are usually stressed out their minds. I'd like to think someone would do the same for my poor missus. last year, a mate and I came across an 85 yo lady broken down in the middle of an intersection halfway up a hill on a busy road. she'd called the NRMA and they'd said yeah yeah we're coming. 40 minutes later she was still stuck their. we moved her car off the road and called the NRMA again to tell them not good enough. Poor old thing was so relieved that someone actually cared.

yes its great to help people but i thought it hilarious that the two guys who stopped were worried about my kombi. they were VW boys but driving a suby...oh well...kindred:love:
