Sandblasting Liverpool Area? Painting rims
HotRodMatt - May 25th, 2003 at 09:28 AM

Hi guys,

Anyone know of any reasonable sandblasting around Liverpool?

I have some rims I want blasted so I can paint them...

Also any "rules about painting the rims? Should the inside of the rim be painted or will this affect the tyre beading correctly?

Yeah - I'd like to know as well.

Plus, another option. How much does it cost to get rims chrome dipped?

You need to get the rim split from the centre to chrome steel wheels! They cannot linish the join properly unless you do this.

There is a good article in March's Volksworld on restoring stock wheels.

Try Mr Clean at Padstow.

No problems painting the whole rim. Better off paint the wheel well, as well to stop corrosion

Have or make sure there straight and all the dags n rough spots are filled or removed before blasting.
spray in primer and them drip check the gap between the rim and the center, and this gap does not fill up wil paint.

If you have early wheels with large valve holes these could be welded up and re drill to suit the small new type valves or tubeless valve stems
would look much better
