Yet another awesome Dub's By The Pub.
Congrats to all who won and to all who made the trek.
It was an absolutely Beautiful day ( I dont mind a couple of showers) and was great to catch up with some old friends.
Special Thanks to Richard and Derek for helping with the fitting of the new exhaust as the speed bump on the way in claimed my old one.

My pics of the offroaders are here:

Thanks Man....
As you can see i had lots of advisors and picture takers....

Once word got around i think people thought it was part of the show!

Tazz
As you can see i was just standing around like a good supervisor should

Was a good day though...
Thanks for those people that voted for me

The convoy;

Not a VW, but still cool and from the same era.

My main competition in the Baja class, a V8 Baja at the back, superbug at the front, leaving the show. It sounds very cool, but unfortunately can't
be registered.

Yep another reat dubs! only took a couple of pics on the way up though.

I'll second that!! Was a great day.
Happy to lend a hand any time mate
Any excuse to get a shiny new exhaust eh!!!

Tazz, I'm so glad you had a successful exhaust fitting. Sorry we couldn't hang around to help.
yep, it truly was awesome, was great to meet & catch up with so many people, I cant understand why only a couple of people come up from Sydney,
funny thing was by the time I got to Kempsey on the way up the car was filthy, covered in insects etc, then heavy rain washed the car spotless by the
Gold Coast, & on the way home, by the time I got to Kempsey the car was filthy, covered in insects etc, heavy rain between Taree & Newcastle
washed the car clean again!, only problem was on the way up I broke a speedo cable north of Grafton (thank goodness for GPS) - when I stopped for
petrol at Tugun I rang George at Classic Vee-Dub who was still packing stuff in Sydney to bring up to the show & asked him to throw in a speedo
cable - free next day delivery !!
total kms was 2051, fule costs $237 & tent site $24., I made it up to Caloundra in exactly 12 hours , the trip home I hooked up with B-Doubles
because they know exactly how fast to go, so had a faster trip, did the 1013km in just less than 11 hours 30 mins including 15 mins for the 2 petrol
stops, that is a moving average of 93kmh, which was the fastest interstate trip I have managed to do.
thanks for a great show
good to hear u made it home safely kim
me and judy were grabbing lunch when u left LOL
but yea was a good day
i was a bit late getting there in the morn
got held up at yatala tho courtesy of dumbass VT commodore driver vs dumbass WRX driver

Thanks for the few pics Bob( I think Nick got a few good ones of yours too) , its good to get some rolling shots, was really impressed with how the old girl went for the drive up and back. Was a good day overall, weather held off, but got hit by some decent rain on the drive home for a bit.....mental note for next time, don't enter up the back way if you drive a low bug, even though the fella at the start said it was a better entrance for low cars!?
Re: the back entrance... Ask Tazz about driving in the front entrance! I don't think there IS a good way to get in there....

I almost lost my exhaust through that service entrance. After you went through, i thought S**T this is
gunna hurt the old girl. I think every bystander with fillings had to pick them off the ground by the time we both got through. had to bend everything
back into shape when i parked up...All you lowered people are now realising why Baja's and buggies are popular up here. We have no problems getting into shows
And besides, it's better than it used to be. The whole car park used to be dirt.
will post some more tonight. not all turned out as well as i hoped.....
nick
that last one looks awesome Nick!!!
I can cope with with being low, a bit scraping never hurt anyone.....but some ramps wouldn't be a bad idea next time, 2 planks of wood over those
aweful gutters would be a good thought!
Err Wes...
Wasn't it your baja that needed the push start thru that dip at the service entrance???

I know it had nothing to do with the whole hight thing...but i couldn't hide my smile when after the lowered cars came thru...penguin said "here's
someone who wont have a problem thru this section'...and low and behold...yo
ur car needed a push start thru it!
So go ahead...blame him...he jinxed you!

had a grea tweeekend didnt manage tocatch up with you all as i was working at the Vintage Display

Yes it most certainly was me that stall at the dip
Someone Jinxed me. :P My starter motor has been getting slower and slower when the engine is warm (and has a lot of compression). So when I stalled
and the engine was very warm the poor little VW starter didn't like it at all. I didn't actually get push started, it's just that the starter
decided to work just after people started pushing.
I guess I need to pull the starter out and get it reco'd. Damn VW parts
And yes it was cool inside with the air con
Ok so that's two blue Baja's getting push started at the dip....who'd have thunk it....
Thank you goes to everyone that showed at Dubs this year. the tune out was not bad but we were down in numbers this year 215 cars were in the show but
if you counted all the cars that did not come into the car park the numbers were 268>, which is not to bad. the day turned out nicely sorry to
everyone that got caught coming in the new entrance and the old one thoes dips are very bad for the lowed cars. The Bug-gers will be looking into that
for next year to make it better for every single car thats enters. But the main thing is we had eveyone in and settled within 1/2 hour thats a record.
So hope to see you guys throught the year, and to see you all back next year. Eileen![]()

MMMMMMMM Brennden's onto somthin ere!!!
I think it's more like all the foreign parts getting together and rejecting the remaining VW parts
