Great day up at Kurri Kurri today. We were on the road at 07.40, and met Ian at The Oak just before 9. Not bad for 36hp. We got into Kurri Kurri
around 09.15, and I talked my way through the gate. Whilst it was a Hot Rod and Kustom Show, he guys on the gate where impressed with my "but it's a
59 Kustom sir....". Needless to say, with the flick of a semaphore, a smile and some good hearted banter, we were allowed to park inside. With quite
a few other non-American rides I must say.
The quality of the rides was outstanding. Plenty of neat Rods and Kustoms, Rock n Roll dancing, a band playing on and off all day, and clothing stalls
where you were bound to find your next bowling shirt.
The Fink caused a bit of a stir, but everyone wanted to stop and chat about it whenever I went to get something for the kids out of it.
As for the day - plenty to eat and drink, lots of shade given it was 27 degrees, and plenty of things to do for the kids with merry-go-rounds, slides,
and jumping castles. 20000 people over the whole weekend, which makes great business for Kurri Kurri.
This stands well on the must do for next year!!
