Just a quick note to let all those people out there in forum land know that I have decided to hand in my admin badge and hang up my typing fingures.
It has been a good couple of years but it is time for me to move on and let others do their funky thing.
If anyone has any admin matters in relation to the forum please contact Jim or Andrew ( Vaderaj or BenettonVW )
All current sponsorship deals will run their course and all details have been passed onto the people who need them.

It is most definitely a shame to see Brad 'resign', as I don't think many of us have any idea exactly how much effort he puts into this forum.

I honestly couldn't say that I agree with anybody 100% of the time, but I am confident that Brad and other admins always have had good intentions, and are dealing with forum problems as best they can. :thumb

I haven't been here long,and I don't know you personally,but I thankyou for what you have achieved along with the other admin & moderators ,BUT isn't this a bit overboard totally resigning from the forum and severeing contact with people who don't know you at all except through the forum,I realise alot of us don't know all the why's and wherefores that made you come to this decision but please reconsider your membership even if it is just as a non admin/moderator

All things being equal, this coming Friday I finish at 4.18 in the arvo. I still got yer number in my pocket.

I guess the reason was that there are people here that threaten to sue him because they are under the diluded belief that Brad is responsable for every thing posted on the forum, there are people that whinge at the admin people that they can't post nude pics, they whinge they can't attach 2MB images of nothing and waste server space and bandwidth, they whinge about the old ezyboard being better, etc etc

I guess he got sick of all the whinging and unaustralian behavior. Maybe if those select few people leave or change their tune he will return.

seeing as how we are an english colony and the 51st state of america, I see litigious and whining as our national identity.

I cannot speak for Brad, but I think he just wanted a rest for a while. The entire litigation thing was just another brick in the wall, not necessarily the only reason, although I'm sure it weighed heavily upon his mind.

We are still operating out of Brad's hosting account, and we don't need to do anything in particular until June next year. I'm going to find a way to use less bandwidth as we'll quickly go through the 12 GB limit we have now unless we do something.

I hope he comes back sooner than later.

While I happily admit to being the most vocal about the imposed censorship, that was Andrews doing & I've known that all along.

The fact remains however, this is a forum, a place of discussion, & if I disagree with something that effects the forum, as a member, I have a right to say so.

I,ve not heard about someone threatening to sue Brad, but then I don't check in as often as I used to, so these things are easy to miss.

You didn't see the litigation stuff because it got moved to a suspended post area. It's all pretty childish really (someone will try to sue me now).

Maybe you're right, Wes. But it's pretty sad: the internet has no shortage of w&*kers and most forums have stuff like this going on all the time. Surely the Australian legal system hasn't slid so far into the mire that he could be under threat for a post that existed such a short time (and was pulled up by a number of other posters before it was removed?) If it is the case, I offer my support and am confident the lawyers involved will burn in a hell where there are no VWs!!!
