I wouldn't be caught dead in that.

Spook - May 27th, 2008 at 11:24 AM

What's creepy about it??

He didn't die in it, in fact there is no evidence he died at all.

It's just a kombi.

frank2112 - May 27th, 2008 at 11:37 AM

You never know. He might come back to claim it......

The Bigfella - May 27th, 2008 at 11:54 AM

Nah, some seat-sniffing west ozz pollie will probably buy it

Dasdubber - May 27th, 2008 at 12:37 PM

Maybe "G'day Kombis" should be commissioned to sell the bus and pitch it to UK buyers - they seem to be quite proficient at exporting a lot of Oz buses over there, so this one should be draw quite a few quid esp since it is famous!

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - May 27th, 2008 at 05:34 PM

A friend of a mate bought a Kombi that the previous owner gassed himself in. didn't find him straight away so the stench of deaf was in it bad. Everyone who looked at it took a whiff and said no way. My mate who works in the chemicals and cleaning industry said to his mate buy it!!! I have just the stuff to get rid of the smell. got the car "dead" cheap and then gave it a good clean out. Smell gone and the car now has the nickname "Coffin". Some may find it creepy but to be honest how many of us really know what has gone on in our cars before we bought them.....

My guess is the Falconio Kombi will fetch good $$$

warb - May 27th, 2008 at 05:36 PM

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/05/27/2257275.htm?section=justin

Kuchster - May 27th, 2008 at 08:01 PM

Kuch

Notch Nut - May 27th, 2008 at 09:56 PM

I'd buy it. Can't see the problem. Don't know why it needs to be crushed. Should be that Murdoch fella that needs the squashing, not the Kombi. Fkn Redneck kombi killin cops.:grind:

Joel - May 27th, 2008 at 10:18 PM

the cops had to contact joanne lees cos shes the only owner of it now to ask what to do with it
obviously she wants to put all that behind her and her way of doing that is having it destroyed

pretty sad
it looks pretty solid but SA vws are like QLD with no annual roadys alot of them are total POS

kroozzn63 - May 27th, 2008 at 11:08 PM

she should strip it for parts that still destroys it in a millions pieces ...??

vwkg - May 28th, 2008 at 09:31 AM

2nd day in a row, front page news here in Darwin.

vwsteve - May 28th, 2008 at 02:34 PM

id love to buy it, put a big falconio stiker on the back, stick those fake bullet hole stickers on it and hang one of those fake arms from the tailgate:lol:

kyznet - May 28th, 2008 at 03:55 PM

I reckon it will go for big bucks. Just for the curiosity factor alone. I wouldn't have a problem with owning it though. I'd be creating my own kind of Kombi Karma in it anyways.

StenGuns - May 28th, 2008 at 05:36 PM

Look at all the forensic shit still on it.. I'd clear coat it "as is"

donn - May 28th, 2008 at 10:21 PM

Yesterday, it was moved to a police compound and today police say they have contacted Ms Lees and she has told them to dispose of the van.
Way I read that dosn't realy mean destroy it, dispose of can mean sell it can't it, or is there sumthn I don't know

Joel - May 28th, 2008 at 10:59 PM

the article ive read said when contacted miss lees wanted it destroyed not sold

amazeer - May 28th, 2008 at 11:55 PM

I think its a bit macabre that its a celebrity item. If someone wanted it because they wanted a kombi OK , but not because its a part of infamous history. If it does go up for sale then I agree it probably will go for more than its face value though.

MickH - May 29th, 2008 at 12:21 AM

Oh well...looks like it will be crushed according to the paper......one less Hippy Truck on the road..

Notch Nut - June 1st, 2008 at 10:26 PM

Can't we keep the kombi in Oz intact and send the pommy chick back??
Just to do somehthing different for a change......

Dasdubber - June 1st, 2008 at 10:49 PM

I could really use those spring plates, rear brakes and front end assembly....bugger!
