Hey, Just been offered a line marking vehicle. It`s bloody mad, based on a Type 3 Auto floopan, has twin steering columns with interchangeable
steering wheel, it`s lowered to the max! Missing most of the linemarking equipment but otherwise complete. Looks like a cross between a Country Buggy
and a Mini Moke!! It`s registered as a"Volkswagen Industrial Vehicle".
Very good price, what do you guys reckon?
Cheers
Graham
Post some pics
haha, i saw just that, driving from Adelaide to Sydney, via Melb, it was in use on the highway, shoulda took photos... however it had wide 5 and def VW, the one i saw looked more like a beetle pan... yeah, post up a photo.
Gotta go back and take some pics but do you reckon it`d be worth buying? Gotta convince the Mrs!
Bit of VW history I suppose, looks pretty proffessional build.
The guy wants $500.
What are you going to do with it?? That will decide if its worth it or not

it will certainly be a piece of VW history..
You would of course have to bring it to VW shows in NSW
to show NSW people what it looks like
plus the lines where the nationals are held do need to be done again... lol..
so, it still has a VW type 3 engine and automatic gearbox.
or was it a wide 5 pattern??
did they have autos back then??
LEE
Auto started in 1968 with 4 stud.
I would buy it if you don't...
I reckon it`ll be a keeper (just don`t tell my Mrs)!!
So yeah, just didn`t know if people have seen them lying around at council yards etc. It looks like a Bush Basher but it`s well built and for it to be
registered as a Volkswagen Industrial Vehicle must have gone through an engineer or something.
Just listed a heap of stuff for sale on here so hopefully can buy it next week (bit strapped for cash at the moment!).
It`s got full auto type 3 box and complete engine, key in the ignition but no battery, I reckon it`ll fire first time!
The pedals are crazy, because the drivers seat is around the position of the rear seat it has had the pedals moved back with a crazy linkage hooked up
to the original point at the front of the `pan.
Here`s a bit of a spy shot. Went back for another quick look but the guy had locked up his yard. Very blurred but here ya go...............
Hi,
just spoke to the guy again today to let him know I`ll buy it. Apparently it has a tar bucket/heater that they removed off the front (which he said I
can have if I want!) so I think it`s a cats eye installation vehicle not a line marker!
So sorry I won`t be doing lines at the Nats! But I`m your man for cats eyes!!
Very exited!
Graham.
Could always turn it into a drag car with 2 drivers hahahahaha
