decklid stand off help...
learjet79 - June 9th, 2008 at 01:54 PM

does anyone know how to install the decklid stand offs and where they go??

bond - June 9th, 2008 at 01:58 PM

between the body and the decklid hinge from memory. 6x 8 or 10mm bolts to mount the stand off to the body then another 6x 8 or 10mm bolts to mount the hinge to the standoff.

if you can - mark with a pen where the original bolts are both into the body and onto the decklid as if you ever go back to stock its sometimes a pain to realign the decklid.

Yes
they actually bolt to the decklid..
and the body...
and i got mine from Mick and with no instructions...

EMPI Radar
You May be able to use a spacer to mount them so the engine lid can still open...

nothing is impossible
just a darn sight harder...

are you asking about the old fixed ally ones, or the removable Hoodjax one?

learjet79 - June 17th, 2008 at 06:07 PM

the old fixed ones... Q: do they replace the original hinges??

phatratpat - June 17th, 2008 at 06:33 PM

go the hoodjax cost more but you can remove
and install your decklid in about 30 seconds!!

learjet79 - June 18th, 2008 at 03:08 PM

yeah... big problem! i already have the standoffs..
so how do i install them??

learjet79 - June 18th, 2008 at 05:22 PM

OK... So i have put them in and the look good, BUT..
the lock won't lock in and it looks like i have to extend
the number plate light wires, and the spring does'nt stay in place..
WTF..What to do?? any ideas would be great..

Once they are installed people will stop you to tell you your boot is open all day every day
the reason! they look silly.

i think they look good on late models but early models look wrong with them
but theyre the ones that need it
anything bigger than a stock 1200 or 1300 isnt getting enough air with no decklid vents

the spring doesnt work anymore with standoffs
so get a prop up stick or shove a screw driver down the tube part of the hinge braket

ok, thanks guys..
