If she get's stuck and can't find anything before starting TAFE, I could probably handle a house mate for a couple of weeks while she's looking (I live at Morningside, so not too bad for bus or train to Soutbank).

I did the move up from Sydney years ago, so I know how much it can suck being in a new town where you don't know anyone... but even still I don't reckon an "old enough....& cute...lol" student would want to crash with a bachelor car-nut like me for too long !!!

if she tries realestate.com.au and just looks in rentals around that price range alot of the real estates manage share houses and you can find them pretty easy. i lived at one managed by richardson & wrench paddington, it was just up the hill on brook st (classified as highgate hill but i dont know i would call it south brisbane i think) and it is a very easy walk to the tafe. it is a really good position, heaps close to transport and uni, even close enough to uber to stumble home early thursday morning... when i was there it was $145/week but I don't know what prices are now. i know how hard it is to find somewhere to live, it was a nightmare when I first moved up here!
