Over the last few years i have been employed by a window company here in Qld , but this morning after lots of thought i have decided to go back to
work for myself.
Having been self employed before it has been hard having to awswer to someone for the last couple of years but not bad all the same as a pay cheque is
always there at the end of the week allthough not quite up to the level of my old self employed income ( they grabed me at the right time back when
things were a little slow).
With hopefully more spare time and money on my hands now i should be able to finally get stuck in and finish some of my projects with the Bus first in
line closely followed by the Towdster ( yes i still have it and no it's not for sale )
What do i do you ask , well i'mm a sheety by trade but am going to go back to fitting commercial windows again and probabley spend a few days a month
at CVD fabricating the odd buggy pan etc , but for the imediate future i have a job up the Sunny coast line up to refirb a highrise @ $40 an hour for
as long as it takes , which should be about 4 months.
Congrats on your freedom
but.... you aint selling your self too cheap??
I am an estimator in mechanical services. A sheetie in Sydney COSTS me $50/hour
Cant see how you would make a buck selling at $40
Yes it is a little low to start with but it is a cruizy job , and no stress , moneys not everything ya know and even at this rate thats still good for a $1100 gross wage a week plus super etc , even more if i want to work longer hours
happiness is what counts
The pay up here is diabolical! I think employers believe that living on the coast is a priviledge and therefore is part of the pay package. Either way
it's where I've made my home so I think I'll have to sufferBTW I emigrated to Oz over 20 years ago and I'm still earning less in dollars than I was in pounds, now I have three kids
I just dream of earning $40 an hour.
