If you buy today's Telegraph and look on page 116, there is a picture of the Toulon rugby side at training, being coached by All Black legend Tana Umaga. Sonny is not there (still in hiding?)

But notice that the players all have shirts with Volkswagen logos on them. Volkswagen must sponsor Toulon and the French rugby comp.

Hooray ! That means Volkswagen indirectly paid for Sonny Bill to defect.

There is another photo of Toulon training in today's Daily Telegraph (Tues 5/8), on page 61.

Again it shows the players wearing white training tops with Volkswagen logos, with 'Foch Star' underneath, whatever that means.

VW might be sponsoring the French rugby union - at least they are no longer sponsoring the Parramatta Eels.
