Senseless, no other word to explain it
Mick058 - August 7th, 2008 at 08:20 AM

I was in Darwin yesterday for work and got in this morning at 6am with no sleep. I go inside, get changed and go to unlock my rodeo when i found someone has keyed it...i didn't get angry or swear or anything of the sort - i just shook my head.

Who does this? i wasn't even in town...rather i've upset someone with my driving and they know where i live or someone just felt like it...if the former, i still don't understand it, even if i had cut someone off or something, don't key a car, let the tires down or leave a note, but keying! its just senseless.

This had also happened to my wifes car when it was only 2mnths old. Was parked at wollongong uni and she is not an aggressive driver...someone just felt like it.

i just thought i'd share my complaint...

Senseless

P.s .down the rear door and rear tray panel...taken with camera phone so not heaps clear...

Mick058 - August 7th, 2008 at 08:50 AM

That would be far more up-setting!

VWCOOL - August 7th, 2008 at 09:10 AM

I had two brand-new Hiluxes keyed outside my house 2 years ago. They were delivered to me so I hadn't even laid eyes on them (I lived in a battle-axe block at the time), let alone driven them, when they were keyed on Anzac Day 2006.

I was celebrating Anzacs while some low-life keyed two vehicles I borrowed

Karma will katch up with them...

kombikim - August 7th, 2008 at 09:11 AM

people just do it because they can, dark cars seem to be more susceptible because it shows up more, our kombi parked out the front of our place was keyed right round, that is full length of both sides & across tailgate - at least the smashed back window caused by a beer bottle throwwn from a moving car a few years ago was easily fixed

bajachris88 - August 7th, 2008 at 09:23 AM

how deeps the key scratches?

Cut and polish do it?

That would piss me off so bad buddy, some people are just inconsiderate.

Mick058 - August 7th, 2008 at 09:35 AM

pretty deep on the door - just so low. i hear your pain. i just can't understand it. Its a dumb man's thing to do...

pete wood - August 7th, 2008 at 10:15 AM

mercs and bimmers I can understand, but hiluxs and rodeos?

68AutoBug - August 7th, 2008 at 10:15 AM

Just senseless idiots...

they seem to deep to fix with a polish or buffing etc...

it may seen small to whoever done it

but it wrecks the cars total paint job...

I think fingers chopped off May fix the problem?

Next thing We won't be able to buy a metal key
unless you are over 18 Years old...
that hasn't stopped the spray painters

there is probably no one on here that knows why they do it
as they maybe don't have a car... ??

Senseless vandalism

Sorry to see it

Lee

Mercs, BMW, Datsun, Nimbus, Beetle, Mack truck. What differnce does it make. It someone elses property. Probably poorly raised kids starved for attention.

Mick058 - August 7th, 2008 at 10:42 AM

:grind: fingers off sounds good.

Hey Tim, is this Penrith i met the other day Tim???

Tim Andrews - August 7th, 2008 at 10:43 AM

The one indeed. Hey Mick

Mick058 - August 7th, 2008 at 10:44 AM

Good to see you on the nut house. Noticed 56 beetle and 1916, lower blue mountains - had to be you.

amazeer - August 7th, 2008 at 12:44 PM

At least you can hate the perpetrators. I have a friend whos 5 yr old son went to work all over their tarago with a rock he had picked up in the carpark. Just because he was bored waiting. The kid is still alive, not sure how.

Mick058 - August 7th, 2008 at 01:03 PM

Ha - funny stuff. Hate to see their walls at home.

hewey - August 7th, 2008 at 01:36 PM

Little f***tards with nothing better to do :grind:

My mate's brother years ago had a Gemini showcar, with full graphics down each side. On the road a few weeks and it gets keyed. 6 months and a full respray later, and it gets keyed after being a few weeks back on the road. It was sold shortly after

reub - August 7th, 2008 at 02:19 PM

Wasn't me dude..... Unfortunately seems to be a common occurance around though. Bastards.

Take it you've left already?

karmannghia60 - August 7th, 2008 at 03:51 PM

This is bad of course but I had even worse done to my car and I also wasn't even in the country. Some low life f%$#et went aound the car with a drill. Drilled a hole in the engine block, 3 on the side of the car and one in the fuel tank. Just could not think why and who would do that. The car was towed from the panel beater to home and my sister argued with the towie about dropping the car on the street not the driveway. Must have been him who did it but I had no proof. Cost me lots of $$ to fix let a alone the stress

VWFREAK - August 7th, 2008 at 03:54 PM

I know the feeling, our Mazda Tribute got done a week or so ago. They went all around the car, dirty f$%kers. 12k respray. Thank god for Shannons

vw54 - August 7th, 2008 at 04:02 PM

vwkg - August 7th, 2008 at 06:27 PM

Sucks that that was one of your first Darwin experiences Mick.
Way to many bastards inhabit the area up here.

Take it you've left?

Did you spot any of our dubs?

vw_scene_kid - August 7th, 2008 at 07:58 PM

but its not registed yet

newghia - August 7th, 2008 at 08:24 PM

Ahh yes, understand the feeling all too well......My airbrushed hilux was done just afew weeks ago,
fortunately i am told by the good people at Penrith Car Care that it will buff out,.... needed a wax anyway,
Worse... i take my Ghia to work to build a console, first night i have had it in my hands for a long long time before it goes to the trimmers the next day,
my family comes to visit & my youngest (1 1/2 yrs ) picks up a door handle, walks around the front, Says "BANG BANG " and belts the front gaurd......
i yell, NOOOOOOOOOOO
wife grabs kids & leaves , sends text...."sorry, i didnt know what to say"....She is very smart, everyone still alive!

Kids are kids ay...

Mick058 - August 8th, 2008 at 08:35 AM

Hey Reubs, i looked out for your car but didn't spot it. Noticed a few stockers about.

I was dreaming on my way around Darwin that i would spot from the corner of my eye an early split kombi and that it would be in perfect condition and all i'd have to offer was $500... dreams are nice....

Just to clarify, i was in Darwin and my vehicle was at home in Sydney. Had a rental for Darwin - needed to kill some time (flight times are odd) so i drove to the Katherine Gorge - was nice...

trickysimon - August 8th, 2008 at 10:30 AM

When I went to Katherine Gorge a few years ago it was 41 degrees in the shade lol
