let it load...let it load! :)

At first I though that the trailer was ugly, but behind that car its found its place in the world.

PS - Thay should have made the wheels match, then it would have been perfect.

Very nice Pete, I especially like the little handle for moving it around manually. :thumb

So I guess you want to build one now? :)

They're called a Mullins Red Cap trailer. Sort after in the states. I found an original one in 1980 sitting under a tree in a backyard in Northwest Washington. The old guy had it since new and was not willing to sell it, it'll just rust away to nothing...bugger.
I do know a guy here that has some moulds for fibreglass repros?

56astro - June 4th, 2003 at 09:09 AM

I can see why they are sought after.

Bloody sweet.

Anyone else here got a beetle-trailer or somthin like Volma's. I would luv to tow somethin like that around.

Hi Steve
You may like to check out this mob in the states, they sell plans, so you can make one your self, I love them, reckon their the ducks guts, double bed and cupboards in the front, kitchen in the rear, just the thing for a beetle.
There is a bloke who runs a business, selling stuff at swap meets, he made his own, and done a bloody beutiful job.

If you u2u me an Email address I can send you some pics of the one he made, the ones I have are too big to post here!

What mag's have you seen them in? got any names, I dont buy mags anymore, once they broke through the $10 barrier, that was it for me! I rather spend the money on the Kombi!
