Hi,
In the next month or two I am going to bring down my manx project from the farm.
I am looking to find a good mechanic or place for it to get the once over.
Any suggestions.
Thanks,
DB
What part of Adelaide are you looking at? There's a few good VW places around town but not sure about for a Manx - I'm not sure how they might be mechanically different from a standard VW.
Not that i know much about VW's yet,but i have been chatting with lots of people locally and it seems the mechanic on Daws road at Mitchell park (think its GHR motors) is the guy to see. They only do VW's so I'd say he knows his stuff.I had an hour chat with him last week about buying my first VW, what to look for etc etc and I got a good vibe from him (and he is 2 streets from my place!).Have spoken to other vw owners and they recommended him too
Thanks i've driven past the gut on Daws road a few times.
I live in Norwppd.
Yeah was gonna suggest GHR. I've had some dealings with them and they were good, reasonably priced and have been there for years so I guess they
know their stuff. I intend to take the Golf there again for a service etc., and I live in North Adeliade. A good mechanic is worth going out of your
way for (plus it's nearish to my parents so I can get a lift and a meal at the same time
).
Closer to Norwood is Volksfactory at Holden Hill, Volks Care at Windsor Gardens (not had any dealings with either) and Cartek (formerly Vee Dub
Centre) on South Rd near the overpass - despite their shift of focus to late model cars, I think they can still do VWs well.

Thanks everyone, I spoke to cartek about two weeks ago and they are going to stick with later models.
I think GHR may be the go.
