Help getting A new 'Bus' for the 'Family'
satori - September 14th, 2008 at 07:08 PM

Hey fellow dubbers. About 5 months ago Our kombi rolled of a cliff and was a ride off. (No one in it lucky). It was our Daily driver and our home alot of the time. We have a 15 month baby with cerebral palsy and travel around alot to theripist, which sometimes are inter-state. Since then We bought a type 3 wagen which is not at all practical with our little one, especially when feeding and needing a placde to sleep. We are after a bay kombi to fix up and get us going again. I have alot of parts including engine for it, so really only need a straight shell with good brakes and sterring. We live in the blue mountains and would be willing to drive a few hundred K's to get one. If you think you could help or know of some one feel free to call or just PM me. We have a website for our Baby if you would like to see our story http://www.ourbabysatori.net  Thanks Guys

Keep an eye on the 4-sales on the Club Veedub Sydney website, http://www.clubvw.org.au/,  or subscribe to the magazine and get it fresh in your letterbox each month. Kombis come up for sale almost every month. There are also 4-sales in the VW Australia magazine, but that only comes out every couple of months. Otherwise look at the car classifieds at http://carsguide.news.com.au/  and similar.

'Bay Window' Kombis are fantastic (I have one myself) but something a bit more modern might be better if you require reliable transportation for your youngster. Have a look at T4 Kombis (ie after 1992) - they are bigger and more comfortable than early Kombis, with modern Golf-style mechanicals. And they are still Volkswagens. Lots of them around, too.
