I know a paralympic gold medallist!

One of my work colleagues Brendan Dowler was in the Rollers team that won gold tonight. I need Hawkey to come back and tell me I can have the day off tomorrow.

I hardly watched any of the regular olympics because there is just too much commercialism in it, especially with swimming. Paralympics was heaps better. Commentary was amateurish but it made it better in many ways. And the athletes seemed so much more excited to win any medal at all.

Where else can you see a shotput guy who must have weighed well over 100kgs be part of a 4 x 100 relay and get bronze. Fantastic stuff.

I totally agree, watching the paralympics was great. The ABC did a brilliant job. Did my best to avoid watching any of the real olympics because of the commercialism.
Actually, sometimes it was a bit of 'pick the disability'. I was amazed at some of the cerebral palsy runners!

The paralympians did an awesome job. Well done to all of them!

Damn right! The paralympic athletes far outway the 'normal' olympians.
Murderball was awsome.Congrats to Brendan and all the competitors
