wanted Ken Virgin Carby Info
vw54 - September 19th, 2008 at 09:01 AM

I am looking for any articles or adverts and any related information on the twin carburetors set up that were made by Ken Virgin in Adelaide during the 60s

Kits were made to suit both 36hp and 40hp Beetles

Photocopies or scans would be great

Ken also drag raced a Volkswagen around this time

Contact the volks enthusiast club or Adam Debiasi (08) 8262 7533.

He has his old race car and knows quite a lot about this car and the man.

cool, the linkage looks dinky, but I guess it's doesn't need to be all that beefy.

Hi, did you end up getting any info on these kits? I have just got myself a set and would love to find out more about them if possible?

vw54 - April 11th, 2014 at 07:52 PM

No I didn't get any articles

coletrickle - April 11th, 2014 at 10:17 PM

i've got an article in an old aussie hot rod mag about fitting a ken virgin set,,its one of aprox 1 million mags in the back of my shipping container so not eaisly found due to my lack of filing skills.Ive gotta get in there soon for another guy so i'll dig it out soon. But iirc the kit i was looking at had dual zeniths.when i didn't have a 2300 w/idas i looked into these and iirc the rh carb wasn't hard to come by i think skodas had them but the lhs to get the acc arm on the corfect side was the issue i ran into.Norm beechy's monaro motors made a cool su set up that definatly wakes up a 36er.

That would be great if you could find anything coletrickle, thanks for the response.
