Sweet pics mate well done!!

Baja Wes - November 8th, 2008 at 10:58 PM

I went out there and forgot my camera like an idiot. Other than that it was a good day. The rain stayed away, but as a consequence it was a lot warmer than the bureau predicted. Good to meet Bruce and Winnie.

11CAB - November 9th, 2008 at 06:08 AM

Yeah I forgot my camera too...lucky I had the wife bring it in for me

Andy - November 9th, 2008 at 08:51 PM

Was a good show guys!!
So will there be more?

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - November 9th, 2008 at 09:40 PM

I tried to organsie Ken Brown's baja top come to this but unfortunately it clashed with something else he had on. All going well He will be bringing his buggy down to the Goldy show next weekend and it will soon be for sale.

OZ Towdster - November 9th, 2008 at 09:47 PM

Just got home from one of the best days / weekends of my life ............
Bruce cruised with me for a couple of hours this arvo in our Baja Bus and absolutely loved its power and ability with Winnie also loving it later in the arvo for its warm cabin compared to the fun but often cold buggies.

11CAB - November 10th, 2008 at 06:31 AM

So where are the beach pics?

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - November 10th, 2008 at 06:38 AM

So did you show him how you get it stuck HAHAHAHAHAHAHA:lol:

matberry - November 10th, 2008 at 08:00 AM

Great week end. Was buggy slut for most of the beach trip and had a ball, thanks manx club.

Brad - November 10th, 2008 at 03:47 PM

Well what can I say, Buggy Fest 2008 and was great success and with 38 or so Buggies making the effort and many buggy lovers it was a very good turnout.

Bruce and Winnie pass on a really big thanks for all those who helped out and also those who just dropped in and said G'day. They had a ball and really enjoyes meeting everyone.

It is weird that a small fibreglass bathtub, designed on the other side of the world by one guy so many years ago has meant so much to so many. It never ceases to amaze Bruce at the effect the Meyers Manx has had on people and how much they love it. I guess that is what makes the original the best.

In relation to the Manx Club Australia, there will be an AGM late January / Early Feb. Hope to hold it at the same place as Buggy Fest if possible. I look forward to seeing as many people as possible make the effort to attend so we can fill some committe positions and keep the buggy resurgence going.

A full trip report with pics will be up on the Manx Club Webiste by next Monday and the video Footage will be on the Fraser / Buggy Fest / Bruce and Winnie Beach Run DVD to be out in time for Christmas ($5 inc postage to all Current Manx Club Members - Free with all new registrations prior to Christamas and $5000 pickup only from the moon for non club members)

Buggy On !!!!

Baja Wes - November 10th, 2008 at 04:11 PM

I hope no-one goes to the moon and finds out that they're out of stock. :(

It's a pity I missed the beach trip part (work has sent me to Manly for a conference). I think Winnie liked the look of the climate controlled comfort of my Baja :)

As much as Jen hates it , he's so much like you already !!!

Brad - November 10th, 2008 at 09:20 PM

Like me ?? man I didn't get into a buggy till I was like 12.. my parents made my buggy life start much later than his ...

He already drives his Battery Train araound and he can't even walk yet......

Lucky I have his first buggy project lined up ready for the father son building to begin ...

Brad - November 11th, 2008 at 08:38 AM

DVD is coming up well, looks like we should get about 10 mins of good footage and then another hour or so of footage people who went will like.... I have never had so many buggies getting swamped, wet, bogged, stuck and cruising around on one tape before.... who said buggies don't float.

I'd just like to say thanks very much too.
To all those that made this possible.
Was great to see so many buggies and to get to meet the man that started it all. Will just have to get my finger out and get my first buggy out and about more often and get working on the second one.
Once the manx site reverts back i'll down load the club forms and send in my application.

Thanks guys and gurls.

Brad - November 11th, 2008 at 08:54 AM

Site will be changed by Monday 17 Nov 08 !!! Just working on it now ...

bugboymatt - November 11th, 2008 at 10:15 AM

Excellent Smithers Excellent.

Is it possible to fill them in online and submit and just transfer money into manx club account ?
Saves someone having make a trip to the POBOX and Banks etc !!.
Just a thought might make it easier!.

Nope we need a signed form for insurance and e-sign is not accepted. You could print it, type it, scan it and then email it. Transfer $$$ then.

bugboymatt - November 11th, 2008 at 10:58 AM

Ah ha, I see said the blind man to his deaf daughter !

Thanks for that. I understand now.
Was just an idea to save some time/running around by the guys/girls that do. I get the insurance bit tho so thats cool.

Thanks Brad.

p.s. sorry, I know this thread not about the Manx Club as such.

Matt.

MikeM - November 13th, 2008 at 11:46 AM

Buggyfest 2008 was great. Was fantastic to meet Bruce and Winnie. Shame my buggy wasn't done, but that is the way the cookie crumbles.

Was an huge effort to organise the event so I'm glad everyone had a great time

PS. Suport our sponsors. Without them this day wouldn't have happened.
