A great day but I reckon a bigger venue may be needed in the future as it was a full street load.
Gr8 to see a variety of older cars.
Can someone explain to me how a Seat Ibiza fits in a VW show though? Are Seat VW owned?
Some selected pics.
great day - some extremely high quality cars
more
...couple more
...ohhh yeah, and there's these:
yes seat are vw owned, they also have vw running gear! (in the uk i used to cross referance prices as the seat parts were often cheaper than the vw parts even tho they were the same, just in different boxes!!)
Some nice shots ,thanks for sharing. les
It was a good turn out with plenty of nice cars and great weather. I'm not totally convinced about the new location but it worked fine (except if
your car was in the middle and you needed to leave early).
More pics please. I didn't have a camera with me this time.
Next time I may even enter the Golf
I only spent a couple hours at the show today, but looked like a great turnout.
Here's a small selection of my pics........
Here are a few more, yep need more space, i couldn't even get my little beetle in and he had to sit on the street. But i think this was a bigger
turnout then the normal location.
Click pics for a bigger version. And if its slow bear with me as all these pics all serving off my server could be intense.
Well Done Eraser.
I aint bothering taking my camera any more I will just rely on your pics!
Awesome work.
I didnt see the blue empi Kombi there though???
I am not sure that there were more cars than last year but the restricted area made it seem huge.
I really cant see that venue lasting unless the car park at the end was blocked off and used??
Just wanna say and maybe remind some of you , this todd street event was the "FIRST" one at this location, so its a learning curve for all
involved.
the guys who make the calls about what happens have already started mapping out the changes needed, and i am sure over the next couple of events there
it will only continue to improve.
I myself think they did a killa job, and yes it was the biggest turn out ov VW at any of there shows by about 30 more cars. Also the gravel carpark
area at the end of the street is theres to use in the future should they need it. So all in all i wanna give the club 2 thumbs way up for a great
day.
lots a new cars, good feel in the street, the music was good , the BBQ was good , plenty of shade out of the sun ( much more than at Glenelg ) and you
had the bonus of 2 pubs open to buy a beer.
So for the knockers, all i wanna say is, you go host an event if you think you can do it better and we will all come, because if you can do it better,
then it is going to have to be one hell of a show, the Todd st was very good, sure a few little things need ironong out, but you dont know untill you
do it.
good on you the enthusiasts club, keep them comming, GREAT JOB !!!!!
what he said,
Well done guys.

How good is the pinning the Jon did on 'Shrapnel'?
Gee I wouldnt have thought anyone in this post was a knocker at all???!!!
All the feedback has been about space I think.
I thought it was great as well.
Not sure if I am a knocker (is constructive feedback is knocking?) but I will not be running any event any time soon when quality events are already
around like this one.
I have some ideas for the club but obviously not to be posted here! Sheesh
Dub64, if you are that passionate you should join the commitee, they can always do with enthusiastic people.
I did the magazine for a year and hopefully made it step up from being a mediocre newsletter to a magazine. I think they need someone to do it now if
your interested.

Fight Fight Fight !!!!!
Welldone on trying something new !!! Fantasic. Loved the shade.......esp loved the pub !!!!!!! BTW you blokes need to drive Kombis.......to much aggro
in beetles Lol
BTW Dub64 it not your fault that there is a little sensitivity around. I did here a couple of tossers having a sook which is easy to do when you are
not involved. Which therefore makes the hosts a little edgy. As Cal said these guys will address any space issues I just think its great to do
something new and interesting !!!!!!
Cheers
Matt
Some good shots there!! You can just make out my Golf in background in the pic of the Empi Kombi. It would have been nice to be able to park up with
the other MK1 or to have the categories all together, but that's the way it goes. In a way it made it more interesting to have all the cars mixed up
- you never knew what was up next or got bored looked at similar cars. And having the pubs right there was a good idea (not that I visited them ).
EDIT: you should have had some of those No Parking Except for VWs in the nearby streets - too many 'ordinary' cars around
Yep sensitivity is the word.
Again I thought the day was great, the venue was superb with all the cars mixed in and yes shade AWESOME.
I dont really have any complaints at all. My comment about being enough space was a compliment to the organisers that so many people were happy to
turn up therefore filling up the whole street.
I was offered the chance to leave early as my wife had to work late afternoon. Organisers were happy to accomodate me. Turns out I didnt need to as my
wifes shift was cancelled. (This was organised prior to event by email)
I would like to be a member, for sure, but I dont really want the hassle of politics.
Is that what the clubs are like in SA?
you should all come to the volksenthusiasts club meeting tomorrow night (wednesday) at the austrian club at the top of torrens road -no politics
involved just plenty of vw talk and good austrian beer meeting starts at 8pm then we cruz into norwood parade after for a coffee and more vw bs
ing
all welcome if you are a member or not- be there
i loved the event great spot, great pub, great cars i think the atmosphere was as good as valla street parade but lasted all day- the club members did
a great job and worked bloody hard all day its only going to get better in years to come- the dinner was great on saturday night with 65 people there
and 37 cars on the cruz on friday night
thanks adam deb
I will post some of my 139 photos this weekend.
For those going to VEC Meeting tomorrow night you'll get to see them on the projector screen.
I enjoyed the whole weekend Cruise/Dinner/Show were all great.
Well Done to Rob Gilbert for all the organization.
That red Karmann is sweet.
Does anyone know the owner of the Country Buggy?
looks like a great turnout. 2 Ascorts at 1 show! that drag oval with all its period goodies is drool-worthy too, and the matt black bay kombi looks rediculously straight
Aaaaah Mr Tyler, you never fail make me laugh when i read your posts!
( Fight Fight Fight!!
)
What a great weekend Volksfest was!
My first show as a new vw owner and i scored a trophy.Stoked!!
The club did a helluva job with organising the parking of the cars and the show in general.
I never saw it at Glenelg, though from comments i heard on the day,i dont think it many people will miss it.
The Bay has lost its charm now,so i personally think its a good move forward to hold it at the port.
Many congrats to the club, the volunteers and all the nice vw owners i met for the first time.
Seeya next year with my Low Light!
