just getting my frustrations out, but im guessing others have gone through it. gave my new kombi to a bloke to put in a second hand box cos 3 weeks
after i bought it the main bearing went and it screamed its head off in fourth gear at 100k's he said he would do it that weekend, i said to him take
2 weeks cos im going away. thinking im being a nice guy, now its been 3 weeks and he promised me it would be done last night, i speak to him he says
he's been busy but the box is sitting next to it, so promises me ill have it tonight cos i need it as im going away tomorrow in the kombi. still no
word from him, i hate this crap. so once again sorry just wanted to get my frustrations out being a new kombi owner im pretty dissapointed that my
baby isnt with me, sorry for the long rant.
josh
it should only take approx 8 hrs at the most to remove n replace a gearbox and motor thats doing it at a easy pace
yep thats true i would be looking for a real mugchanic
hey,,, i understand they said a certain time frame, but still... you won`t be his/her only customer & you did say you were going away so that basically says "take your time"
Never say to a mechanic "no hurry I'll be away for a week or so" because the job mostly hets left as a low priority until the last minute. Gees he'll be back tomorrow!
Happens to me all the time.. Actually right now! Waiting on work to be done. It's just so frustrating not being able to drive it.
Depends exactly where you take your car and what quality of job you want done.
My 56 is at the auto electricians and I told them no stress on time.
It has been there for 7 months.

Doesn't a 56 only have about 10 wires?
Insane is what you will see when he gets the bill, just imagine how much work can be done in 7 months!!!!!
