can anyone tell me how to upload pictures from my documents to this forum???
its probably really easy but I'm buggered if I can make it happen!

Use a hosting site like Photobucket (there are others). Upload to there and then there is a link at the bottom of each pic which you put in your forum posting. You could also use the attach file option when posting but I don't think it is as good.

you need to click "new reply" if replying - not the quick reply at the bottom

Need to keep pics about 600 x 400 and say 50kb

As Greasy says photobucket is better though
