oval TOFU - December 23rd, 2008 at 10:32 AM

If it's so 'immaculate' inside, where are the supporting photos????

Phil74Camper - December 23rd, 2008 at 10:39 AM

It's probably salvageable once you throw away the fibreglass crap and put the standard steel mudguards, bonnets and bumpers back on. At least the 'professional VW customiser' didn't ruin it by cutting the roof off.

squizy - December 23rd, 2008 at 11:13 AM

I have one word for this.

Why?

1303Steve - December 23rd, 2008 at 01:07 PM

Hi

I think we need a thread or forum section where we can put photos of things like this called "what drugs were they on" or "what were they thinking"

Looks like the white bug in the garage has lost its roof.

Steve

HotRodMatt - December 23rd, 2008 at 01:56 PM

Aww come on... there is far worse on here and people bite their tongues.

matara - December 23rd, 2008 at 02:19 PM

Oettinger beat them to it, but at least they put a Porsche 6 cylinder motor in their beetle:-

With a width of 220 cm is the broadest Oettinger beetle beetle in Europe. Under the extensive bodywork is a Oettinger tuned six-cylinder engine of the Porsche 911th The dynamics of the vehicle by the conspicuous spoiler highlighted.

Newcastle say no more...................................

donn - December 23rd, 2008 at 07:21 PM

I reckon it looks sorta ok, though I reckon there would be a fair bit of bog in there amongst the all steel customising.
Say no more about what?
The vehicle is located at Valentine, near Newcastle NSW.
Valentine is a suburb of the city of Lake Macquarie which is near(south of) Newcastle

ancientbugger - December 23rd, 2008 at 07:23 PM

I'm sure it reads 'Customising all steel' is that except bonnet, wings, engine lid, running boards....not much left to do in steel after that lot:crazy:
And that split kombi/ KG is so sad, I'm almost certain that is illegal in any country that had an iota of taste.....probably french:smilegrin:

old bugger - December 23rd, 2008 at 07:28 PM

hey ab your name is better than mine!!!

ancientbugger - December 23rd, 2008 at 07:49 PM

Well I'm probably older!!:D Plus I had first choice

Scottkombi - December 24th, 2008 at 11:59 AM

With that grille -you would think they were trying for a watercooled engine of some form?

eraser - December 24th, 2008 at 12:07 PM

I sort of like the bonnet the rest is shite tho :P

And that samba link damn purists :P

h - December 24th, 2008 at 01:46 PM

wow thats an easy fix up
replace everything between the plates n you will end up with a half decent ride..
i wish my beetle had open water rated tyres all round like this one, thing is i couldnt see the epirb in the shot..

amazeer - December 24th, 2008 at 10:59 PM

you may laugh, but take out the glovebox and it has fantastic ventilation.

I trust using the word unique in this case is OK ;)
