hi all
can anybody tell me whats been done to craigs engines to have such a great hp rating ive reading up on a couple of back issues of our vw mags on dyno days and its interesting to see the difference between all the motor configs 1835s 1916s 1776s out powering 2300 2180s and so on find it really weird ..............
just about to pick up a 1835 in a couple weeks cant wait un sure of cam specs and heads and so on.
i once had a 1641 with a 110 cam mild head work dual kads and a upgraded igniton system and that was a good combo
many thanks steve

Whats been "done" is Stan the man built it....Why do you want an 1835 and who built it???? tread with caution...get it checked out..

as Mick said be warey of 92mm jugs

theyre just 1776 with the walls thinner so bigger pistons can fit so as a result they warp, leak, over heat etc
take it from someone who once owned one and several others who have had the same problem if the heads and case are bored to that size and you need to replace the cylinders then go 90.5

theres no power difference between the 2 but you will end up with a better more reliable/long lasting engine
