Dont know if this is in the right area but, Anyone In Melbourne able to restore my steering wheel! VDM timber and chrome!

Just got it from the US!

Yeah I rang them last night, Left a mess, No call back yet! Im thinking Pearled Ivory With the chrome will look delish!

Sorry to disappoint you Nectar, pearlcote is only suitable for a very rigid/solid surface. The VDM is soft unfortunately....2 pack paint works very well as long as you prepare it properly. Prahran platers are good for delicate chrome jobs like the VDM. I had mine restored there by Santos (a Brazillian employee) including the hornring for about $150.00.

i think Harding European in Brisvegas do a restoration thing on steering wheels. worth the email to ask.

Aldo, I rang Prahran Platers, Taking it there tomorrow, I think I might do the wheel myself, I just need to know what epoxy to use!

Nectar, sand it back thoroughly and bring it to a place that performs repairs on plastic bumper bars and have them apply the special 'plastic' primer they usually use and then just have any reputable spraypainter paint it in 2 pack...use autosol for the hornbutton!
