The other night i was just wondering what the difference was and really wanted pictures to see what they look like, but i couldn't seem to find these anywhere. So someone able to show me a pic of a front beam with wheels and steering box but one with link pin and one balljoint.
To add to this i heard that all Aussie VW's (made in aust) were link pin even up to 68-9 is this true?
Aussie Link pin stopped in 67 when it changed to BJ.
look on cbperformance.com or airkewld.com or somewhere - for standard or narrowed beams. there will be heaps of pics.

I have seen pics of the beams on their own but not as a fully setup ready to go (on car). Might be hard to understand but its just how i can store it in memory for later, I have also browsed through the manuals and boks i have but no real pictures, (im happy to take a pic of the front ball joint on my 68) just really after a linkpin.
If I can't find a good pic...
I'll draw a drawing... lol
should be a photo or diagram in one of My many manuals...

All Aussie 1967s were king/link pin - with small windows, towel rail bumpers, and 6 volts. Because they were made here, they were really just 1962
Beetles with 1300 engines. The Australian factory could not afford to keep up with all the annual changes that the German/US-spec Beetles got.
Aussie Deluxe '67s were made up to March 1968, when manufacture ceased and they were replaced by fully imported '68 Beetles, which were 12-volt, big
window, front disk, ball-joint. Initially both manual and semi-auto ball-joint Beetles were fully imported. The Australian Custom (Standard) Beetle,
which was mechanically the same as a Deluxe but more austere with less trim, survived until September 1968 when local assembly of German CKD kits
began (manual Beetles only). The semi-auto remained fully imported.
So we only got ball-joint Beetles from early 1968.
If someone doesn't come up with the goods, I'll take a couple of pics of my two over the weeekend... one's a 70 BJ, the other is a 65 K&L... both Aussie production.
