OMG! And I'm dying here in Orange!!! Poor thing!!!
RED62E - February 6th, 2009 at 03:28 PM
Well iI dunno what the actual temp is outside here in Fletcher but it hits in the face like a fire storm outside. The pool is sitting on 32.
It's some relief.
Bring the rain and southerly on Sunday please.
Some much easier keeping warm compared to keeping cool..

I'm glad we don't get too many of these...

LEE,
Yikes!!! That's some serious heat.
I see where the forecast for Melbourne on Sat. is 44C
That converts to 111.2F
My advise is to move slow and stay in the shade.
BOM has some advice from their web site too:
"If people must be out in the heat they should limit outdoor activity to morning or evening hours, protect themselves from the sun and slip,
slop, slap when outside by using sunscreen, wearing a hat and covering exposed skin and rest regularly in the shade and drink fluids
frequently"
slip, slop, slap.....that's a pretty catchy phrase.......

Regards,
Steve
p.s. It's 20°F (-7°C) here this morning. I feel a few beads of sweat breaking out on my forehead.

I'lll swap you for over 1.6 meters of rain..so far this year...and it's still raining!!!

paladin - February 6th, 2009 at 10:18 PM
It's wierd for us Queenslanders hearing about the heat being down south for a change. 43 is brutal.
trickysimon - February 6th, 2009 at 10:50 PM

I did go outside and did a few things about 5pm...
it was OK for about 20 minutes...
its still 33C at 12.45am
so My two dogs aren't going for a walk tonight...
the worst part is, when You walk out of a very cold supermarket.. or bank into a furnace...

Sorry I'm still caught up on Lee's slip on shoes. Do they come with the smoking jacket and cravat ala Hugh Hefner?

is it rude to say that it is a beautiful day here in New Zealand, about 24, sunny with a nice cool breeze?

I'm sorry and grieved to report, my next door neighbor was found deceased today do to our weather extremes.....on the other end of the
"uncomfortable scale" from what you sweltering Aussies are experiencing.
It must have been an agonizing death..........

Stay in the shade and move REAL SLOW.

Steve

It's been REAL hot in Adelaide too for the past couple of weeks. Only one or two days under 35, and many days over 42. We've even had a couple of
nights when it didn't get below 30 degrees. It's gonna be much cooler next week thankfully.
rivkombi - February 7th, 2009 at 08:20 PM
48 degrees here today in the Riverland in South Australia...I'm moving!
