Gearbox question - maybe Tech talk?

All,

question for the Karmann guru's.
I was asked at work today does a 58 beetle box work for a 58 Karmann Ghia? I guessed yes, but said I would ask and make sure.
After this clarification I will in the "wanted to buy" folder for someone in Canberra.

To the best of my knowledge Ghias used all type 1 running gear.I hope this helps Cheers Les
