ive had my 1974 baywindow kombi for about 8 months now but only recently got my license, the fuel gauge is abit dodgey so i dont know how much fuel i have and how big the fuel tank is, any help me out?, ... oh and how manys k's would you normally get out of it?

I don't have my owners' manual in front of me, but I think a Kombi fuel tank is 55 litres. In my heavy auto camper in Sydney traffic, to and from work each day, I am lucky to get 350 km from a tank (one reason why I now have a Golf as well - it's much easier on petrol).

yeah i think mine is 50 but 55 prob makes more sense, ill get about 400klm out of mine whether i baby her or flog her, well when its on the road anyway. and its got nothing in it but a rock and roll bed and its got a 4 speed 1800 boox on a 2ltre (by the way is there any problems doing that?)

No the two gearboxes are pretty much the same, and a 2-litre engine is only marginally more powerful than an 1800. Mine is similar - it also has a 2-litre engine on its original 1800 box, although mine is an auto.

400 km on one tank of Kombi fuel is pretty good going. Manuals are inherently less thirsty than autos, but more of a hassle in Sydney traffic.

and my kombi runs an 1800cc engine of a 2l gearbox, would this mean i may get better km out of it??
and also my fuel gauge seems to just drop to empty once it gets just below halfway, and soulutions apart from installing a new sender unit?
