kombi wanted for Wedding in Port Macquarie
RED62E - April 7th, 2009 at 10:10 PM

My mate has his daughter getting married in September up in Port Macquarie.
She has her heart set on having a kombi as one of the wedding cars.
If anyone here knows of someone with a nice bus that might be interested please pass on the details.
Ta.

Rob,

Contact "waltermitty" on here, he has a couple of vans I believe. I've not met him but he could be a good place to start.

Next option would be "Matt Ryan" or "beetleboyjeff" also on here, who are active members of Port VW Club & might be able to give you a few leads on who has kombis that would be willing to help out.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Brendan

Rob,
I have already read your post, and I am keeping an eye out for good vans. I know of several dual cabs and campers, but can't think of any vans at the moment, but if I see one, I fully intend to bail them up and sus them out for you. Will post when I have some luck.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Same here, I'm assuming you're after a splitty?

Not many around here except for holidayers. If a T3 would do, I can think of a nice metallic blue one with big chrome wheels, a very nice unit with plenty of bling factor. (know who I mean Jeff?)

Regards,

Matt.

Tricia, David, and I were talking about that last night.

Thanks guys,
as I said it's for a mates daughter and she is dead set on a kombi of some type.
I did receive a PM from a member in Coffs who does weddings but I am waiting for his reply.

Any details received will be passed onto the bride and she can assess what is available.

Thanks again

Rob,

Keep an eye on this post over at DSK. Rawdyn is in the process of compiling an Australia wide "wedding bus" register.

I agree. What a great idea. We had bugs at our wedding (in 1981), and my daughter had new beetles at her wedding (2006), and it is not always easy to get the ones you want when you want them.

Good on ya Wally, I'm sure they will be more than satisfied, would love to know the details closer to the date. If it's ok by the couple, a few of us locals might jump in our dubs and go for a squiz, pm me here or at DSK.

Regards,

Matt.

will do matt, as it gets closer will ask the party if its okay & let you know, two splits & a couple of local dubs as escorts would make for a good day of cruising.

It would make an unusual cruise for Mid North Coast Dub Club!

Matt.

I just got Tricia (our President) to read the thread. Will see what we can do, if it is OK for us to go for a look-see.

Firstly thanks for the all the info.

I passed on the numbers and as I read contact has been made.

As for popping by and having a geezer at the wedding from what I know of the father and from listening to him I reckon they would be blown away by a few more Veedubs turning up.

I will let the dad know anyway when I see him next.

Once more thanks to all.

hi rob was hoping you would see the response on here as you are a family friend
& it would be correct etiquette for you to suggest the idea.
