How many can you get in your bug?

It depends whether you use a chainsaw and a blender first or not!

Matt.

'Bug Cramming' was a craze at one time, used for promotion and in university activity days. We actually thought about having a competition ourselves at the Nationals years ago, but the public liability insurance doesn't bear thinking about.

This clip came from 1963, when the Melbourne Herald reported that a VW was pulled over with 12 people aboard. The paper couldn't believe it, so they tried an experiment themselves. They got 15 inside!

One of them is the (later) famous Canadian-born racing driver, Allan Moffat.

My mate used his beetle for a school musical (hahaha) of the beatles... (haha again) they drove it in, and had like 8 people jump out during to song "drive my car" (hahah again!)
so....8 for him, and that was with the passenger seat out.

Years ago when I was a young Scout leader (before seatbelts were even compulsory), I had 11 in my 59 bug and drove across town, and later back to the scout hall. I was the only adult (well, chonologicaly anyway), and the other 10 were kids between 11 & 15 years old. I must say though, that the 2 behind the back seat on my carpenters tool box complained that they were a bit uncomfortable (bloody whingers).

I had 5 in my bug which is no small feat considering it is lowered. It sat on the bumpstops the whole way and speed humps were a bitch. When my friend asked my to pick him up i didn't know his girlfriend was coming to lol

I've had 28 in my Kombi for a video shoot!! Did a youth camp a few years ago with my cousin and we had a Kombi cramb. Had to get as many in the car with all doors and windows closed in 1 minute. Record was 49 smelly teenagers!! I stood and counted as they got out of a very steamy and smelly Kombi.

We let it air out the next day before a mate of mine slept in it again for the next 3 nights LOL
