Special Air Service - May 17th, 2009 at 07:20 PM

So you mean leaving by 8:00 right?

I'll see what I can do.

Cheers
Brendan

Bizarre - May 17th, 2009 at 08:07 PM

Les - spoke to Pete today
No worries.
Think he is gunna hook "something" up to get me going.

"A" marks the spot

As for leaving - well it doesnt take an hour to get there.
So even if we leave by 8.30 (ish) we will be there by 9.00

Think that is when it opens

Anyway - any one running late call us on 0414 872 848

Regards

Barry

Great photos - thanks. It was good fun.

Matt Ryan - May 31st, 2009 at 01:05 AM

Jeff,

I think you need to send Hotondo Homes a bill for all the free advertising they've been getting on AVD lately.

Glad your replacement rocker shaft clip lasted for the trip. Any more clues as to why they keep breaking? Is it the same one each time??

Regards,

Matt.

beetleboyjeff - May 31st, 2009 at 01:49 AM

Matt,

No clue as to why they are breaking. I have broken 3 now, on different heads and on different cylinders. 2 have been on the end of the shaft and one was in the middle. Each time the wavy washer has also broken, so I don't know if this breaks first movement then causes the clip to break.

Peter sent me some more clips, but not wavy washers. I was going to ring him last weeik, but after the flooding, I was giving him time to clean up first. I will replace the clips & washers I borrowed from your spare engine when I get the replacement from Pete.

NuZo - May 31st, 2009 at 08:38 AM

There's no rush Jeff, I've no plans for that engine for a long while. Just interested to find out a reason for the clips and washers shitting themselves on a regular basis.

And yeah, I've been thinking of Pete lately, you couldn't be more flood prone than he is, right on the edge of the river, with less than a foot drop to the water. Imagine the chaos at his place, with the entire contents of his workshop moved upstairs into the house!!!!!!

Regards,

Matt.
