OK, I am now the proud owner of a pretty clean 1970 Type 3 wagon, two owners since new, kept serviced by VW. Interior is immaculate, red trim and full
hood lining, new carpets, starts and runs sweat.
I hate stock cars and dunno what to do with it.
What do you all think

Just to make it interesting when I have had 100 people ( 10% of members ) vote I will go with the winning option. Hows that for power to the
people.
DON"T BAJA IT!!!!!!!!!!NOOOOOOOOO
a square in that condition is worth money, sell it to someone who will appreciate it and use the money to buy another square that you can baja.
can't you use a beetle, i can't stand the thought of another type 3 gone forever
Baja it AND cut the top off!!
Now that would be cool!!!!
Never thought about cutting the top off, now taht would save some weight... But I need a front roof otherwise it woudl be a buggy, maybe a dual cab ute style thing
can ya get ya hands on a splitty single cab top?
If ya graft that on like thos rod pictures of beetles that would be "different"
I posted a while back of a vanagon baga chop top - dont have a copy here but it looked "interesting?
another soft top mabe? you should be use to them by now, go the mega type 3!!:bounce
I can't stand to see a good car get the gas axe. Sell it on. Don't you have enough toys to work on?
yes I have enough toys to work on, but I also like choppinf stuff up ..
i got a wagon u can baja it has sections cut out but i will cut the back section off for ya do it brad be different!!!
a 70 wagon isnt as rare as a pre 69 type 3 so do it!
and make it a ute!!!
cheers
rhys
You all should know what my vote would be.
I spent 20 mins looking for this pic in my archive and another 10 trying to get it under size so I'm posting it twice! :P
Chop it up and tiger stripe it.
Leave it stock!
Andrew
Don't kill another VW..... at least sell it to some one who will love
it, then use the money to buy a ratty one to chop up.
Well done Bronze, I was looking for that one. I had it, but after about 20-30 minutes of looking for it, I discovered that I've lost it. :thumb
looked for that one too !
thats the only way to go if u were to do it but thats a custom chasis obviousely...
otherwise it wont work like the first pick posted.......just wrong
Baja wins the vote but leave it stock wins the argument so far, haven't seen to many arguments to Baja it.
I'll do you a swap Brad,
I know where there's a reasonable type 3 not registered. If I get it for the right price, and your's is easier to get on the road I'll
do you a swap
How about I put mine on teh road and sell it to you ??
why don't you just put it for sale. i'm sure you'll get a good price for it. it sounds immaculate. then you could buy a not as good one to cut up, and if you are lucky, you may even have enough to get two to cut up. don't kill an original!!!
Go against what you'd normally do - just to keep yourself interested. As you've said, you like to chop things up - so this time don't -
left it as it is - slam it - and cruise it!:thumb
Squiz......
Be different be cool go the baja.
No one seems to have any probs distroying a T3 to fix there beetle why not
baja one. Back in the day some of my mates had them and would just lift the suspention put on a set of Desert Duelers
(spelling?) on sunrizer rims and go to all the out of the way surf spots. Full length
roof racks and beds in the back were the go.
I couldn't aford a T3 back then so Dato 1200 was my wepond of choise. If I got boged we would just lift it out.
Cheers NIge:thumb
baja
You know you wanna do it, so just Baja the beast!!! I know in the
same position that I wouldn't do it, but I'm kinda looking forward to seeing what you produce. :thumb
Besides, we all know your trigger finger is just dying to an excuse to get on that angle grinder!
What sort of dollars you looking at if you put it back on the road?
Looking at the poll though Baja's the go Brad.
If your worried about weight, you have a grinder and a drill don't you? Problem solved :-)
hey brad, i can`t believe you`d actually consider not chopping it up...
i had a tidy t3 wagon many years ago that i "bajaised" & it was a good thing.
the gearing was too tall for 31" tyres...but i know where you can get a country buggy back end for it...now that would be different...reset the
front bars & your in business. go on, chop it up, you know you want to... but leave the roof on, it`s winter time..
rick
Dont hack the poor car up, no veedub should have that done to it. But i do like the idea of a baja type3. just raise the suspension up a bit, wide wheels with big tyres and a few spotlights bolted to the front bumper. It would make a sweet car for going away camping.
Brad how bout some photoshopped pictures to give us an idea of what u want to do???
Baja it! It would be soooo kewl! It would be really different and
atract attention. Go for it! I sure as hell know I would!

Well after seeing some of the other Type 3 Wagons for sale I think I will have to leave it stock and put it back on the road as it is too good to turn
into a Beach Car that would never keep up with the buggy anyway.
Besides I have a KGhia arriving on Sunday and I am thinking that will be a much cooler baja project as it would be heaps more rare, photos will follow
soon.
I think it is a 61
