Spoke with my brother this morning who is slowly (90kph) on his way to Hervery Bay to start life again.
He wasn't to happy. He has had hisl Kombi, chop topped baja and beach buggy shipped there on a truck. With Fraser Island framed out his back windown
of the house he his moving into he thought cool place to drive the off road VW's.
Someone called into where he is living after seeing the cars in the front yard and left a message that buggues are now banned from Fraser.
No reason as to why just the message.
Not happy Jan.
Told him to leave me with me.
Will laff my ass off if it's a gee up coz he aint happy at present.
Thats news to me.
It's probably just someone anty buggy that goes to fraser a bit trying to scare pete off.
that sounds a bit weird to me, i went there 2 yrs ago 4wd-ing and saw 2 buggies tearing it up at the time... i agree VDUBXTC, sounds like a disgruntled local trying to scare him off.
more reason to take the offroad vw to Fraser :P
Load of crap. I f that was the case my cousin would have said something to me by now. He is on the island 5 days a week as a tour operator and he knows the ins and outs of what goes on on the island....
I thought it had to be organised by a club? I am probably wrong though... I think brad would be the best person to ask. He generally knows those sort of things before most people.
news to me, don't beieve it
yeah i thought that as it is part of the qld roads system as long as you hadf a road worthy n regoed vehicle you can take what you like there..
ive been up to fraser in my 2wd hilux and several ford escorts years ago and no probs
nothing that a snatch-em strap n an esky cant fix..
id be surprised if that was at all true
..spotted these on a truck at shell servo at halfway creek two weeks ago ..nice collection ..plenty of other beaches you can use em on??
Pete hopes it all crap.
He was looking at some work on Fraser and spoke about keeping one vehicle over there to get around in due to the costs of commuting regularly.
Perhaps it is a greeny gone mad within Harvey Bay. He arrived there last night after a 17 hour drive from Coffs so no doubt he will check the
validity. Shame he didn't take this rain with him. If you see him give him heaps
